Metasequoia Avenue, the same age as Ao Fu
Metasequoia Avenue is a north-south central street running through Aojiaoshi Village. It is named Metasequoia Avenue because three rows of tall and straight Metasequoia trees are planted on both sides of the street. Metasequoia Avenue connects the northern foot of Tianzhu Mountain and the Daren River Stone Bridge, becoming the main traffic avenue and economic and cultural center of Aojiaoshi Village. At the same time, it is also a historical witness to the development of Aojiao Stone Village.

1. Origin of Metasequoia Avenue
Metasequoia Avenue has a history of more than 40 years. In the spring of 1978, the Revolutionary Committee of Jimo County purchased a batch of Metasequoia saplings from the south, which was a rare and precious tree species in the north at that time. After the saplings were bought back, they were sold to the Yaotou Brigade of Chengguan Commune, the Third Brigade of Duan Bolan Commune, and the Aojiao Stone Brigade of Aoshan Commune. The price of the saplings was 0.28 yuan per plant. Secretary Li Aichang attached great importance to this matter and planted the saplings on the five main streets of the village, three rows from north to south and two rows from east to west. In order to ensure the 100% survival rate of the saplings, all villagers were mobilized to participate in the management, and a contracting system was implemented. The forestry team technicians prevented pests and diseases and asked the villagers to contract the watering. In particular, let school teachers mobilize primary and secondary school students to participate in tree planting and tree protection, and stipulate how many saplings are contracted for each person and how much water to water each day. After school, the first thing students do is to take buckets to the well to carry water to water the trees, thus ensuring the survival rate of the saplings. Three years later, all the Metasequoia saplings planted in Aojiao Shi have survived, standing tall and lush, full of vitality. The saplings received by the other two villages were all destroyed and nothing was harvested. At that year, the three-level cadre meeting of Jimo County was held in the Aojiaoshi auditorium. The county leaders asked all the cadres to visit the village to learn the Aojiaoshi Metasequoia tree planting technology and a high sense of responsibility. At the meeting, the county leaders named and criticized the other two villages, "The same saplings, none of you can live, you go out to see other people's Aojiao Shi: all the saplings are alive." At the same time, they announced: "The villages that have not planted live, Each sapling has to pay 60 cents for the saplings of Aojiaoshi." It became a good story of the agricultural and forestry development in Jimo County at that time.
After 43 years of careful cultivation, Metasequoia, a subtropical plant that is native to the south, likes water, shade, and fertilizer, grows vigorously and becomes a forest at the foot of Tianzhu Mountain and in Aojiao Shishan Village on the Daren River. The seedlings of that year have grown into a towering tree with a height of 30 meters and a diameter of 40 centimeters at breast height.
2. Witness the development process of Aofu
The three-drained fir tree in front of the factory is like an unknown witness, from small saplings to towering trees, witnessing Aofu's transformation from village-run enterprises to private enterprises, from the manufacture of anchor chains to the research and development of lifts, from the father to the self. .

Under the Tianzhu Mountain of Aojiao Stone, the Metasequoia tree stands on the central avenue of Aojiaoshi community. Hard work, dedicated to the red spirit of the party; the joyful laughter of tourists in Hongqi Canal, tea fields, and Plum Blossom Valley; the inheritance of legendary mountain villages from generation to generation.
